Simon Rutte is the founder of our distillery, and the recipe for Old Simon Genever was created by the man himself. Old Simon Genever contains a number of typical genever botanicals, such as juniper berries, as well as ingredients that highlight Simon’s unique creativity, such as walnuts, hazelnuts and celery.

We dived into our archives and consulted the old notes made by the Rutte family through the years, resulting in a familiar, yet complex Dry Gin that lends itself perfectly to a gin & tonic or a classic cocktail.

Botanicals: juniper, coriander, angelica, orris root, cinnamon, fresh orange peel and fennel.

Palate: Slight note of citrus and grapefruit, a hint of fennel and juniper and mild angelica.

In the 1970s, John Rutte creation Sloe Berry liqueur, made of gin and fresh berries picked by hand in the Biesbosch, a nature park, near our Dordrecht distillery. Rutte Sloe Gin consists of a blend of sloe berries steeped in gin, sloe berry distillate and a touch of traditional malt wine and herbs. The end result is a well-balanced sloe gin with a full, fruity palate.

Botanicals: sloe berry, juniper, galangal, orange blossom, gentian, vanilla

Palate: Explosion of fruit, slightly sweet and acidic, a bitter note, complex. Long finish of sloe berries and almond.

Der Black Tomato Gin kommt aus einem kleinen Fischerdorf namens Bruinisse. Der Gin wird aus schwarzen Tomaten hergestellt und ist zu 100% vegetarisch. Das Wasser, das für die Herstellung verwendet wird, stammt aus dem größten Nationalpark in Hollands Oosterschelde. Die verwendeten Tomaten stammen aus Italien bzw. Sizilien. Sie werden von Hand gepflückt und zerdrückt bevor sie mazeriert werden. Beim Black Tomato wird der Wacholder bewusst in den Hintergrund gedrängt und die Tomate hervorzuheben.

Based on the very same recipe as the Authentic Gin 1689, in historic times they would mix this spirit with bruised strawberries and raspberries, hence, creating the worlds first pink gin or cocktail.

Hanami Dry Gin

CATZ® Dry Gin wird in Schiedam in einer der ältesten Branntweinbrennereien der Niederlande destilliert. 
Der Alkoholgehalt beträgt 48,2 %, und alle Kräuter (u.a. Wacholder, Kardamom, Koriander, Cayennepfeffer und Engelwurz) werden einzeln destilliert. Die Beigabe der verfeinerten Bergamotte-Frucht sorgt zusätzlich für den ausgesprochen frischen Geschmack. 

GESCHMACKSBESCHREIBUNG
Der Duft ist kräftig, würzig und fruchtig, mit Akzenten von Wacholder und Angelikawurzel (Engelwurz). Herrliche Aromen mit einer fruchtigen Note von Bergamotte. Breit und vollmundig im Geschmack, mit einem Anflug von Zimt, endend in einem frischen Abgang, in dem der Zitrusgeschmack vorherrscht.

Dutch Courage dry gin is distilled from Nine botanicals: juniper berries and iris root from Italy, coriander from Morocco, angelica, sweet oranges and fresh whole lemons from Spain, liquorice root from India, cardamom and whole vanilla beans from Madagascar.

The gin is distilled using a unique distillation method with separate distillation of each botanical so producing a fresh, complex and layered flavour from a total of 14 distillations.

Tasting notes:
The nose is clean with fresh citrus and earthy juniper notes and a beguiling hint of spice and vanilla. The balance of Zuidam Dry Gin makes it perfect for a refreshing Gin and Tonic or a perfect Dry Martini.
