Doornroosje is an exceptional sloe gin. Its name, 'Sleeping Beauty', goes back to an Old Dutch folk name for the blackthorn berry, the botanical sloe gin owes its unique taste to. Doornroosje is a finely distilled, handcrafted Dutch dry gin, with seven botanicals, which are first macerated – soaked in alcohol – and then added to the still. It is a sloe gin without colour. Its taste profile is robust but balanced; pleasantly spicy, with nice sweet aromas. The Nepalese timut peppercorn (belonging to both the pepper and the citrus families) is the signature botanical of the distillery. This berry grows high in the Himalaya’s and contains all the aromas which are so characteristic for all gins of the distillery.
