Elg Gin No. 1 is a crystal clear all-round gin. It is based on juniper berries, coriander seeds and Danish Carrots. The taste is dominated by the flavour of the juniper berries.

The three botanicals are distilled in different ways to achieve perfect distillates with the best possible flavour and taste. Coriander seeds in particular have many undesirable flavour elements that are removed during the distillation process. The Danish carrots are distilled once every year at the end of July.

Elg Gin No. 1 is designed to be the perfect mixer for many different cocktails, but you can also drink it neat, or “on the rocks”. It goes well with most tonic waters to create a classic gin and tonic. The G and T is opalescent due to the large amount of juniper berries.

ELG Gin No. 1

Elg Gin No. 0 is the first Elg Gin, created by master distiller Henrik Elsner back in 2015. The recipe has been gathering dust since then, and that’s why it has been given the name 0.

The three botanicals are distilled in different ways to achieve perfect distillates with the best possible flavour and taste. Coriander seeds in particular have many undesirable flavour elements that are removed during the distillation process.

Elg Gin No. 0 has a high content of coriander distillate, which is why the gin has distinct citrus notes. Elg Gin No. 0 is designed to be the perfect mixer for many different cocktails. It goes well with most tonic waters to create a classic G & T. 

ELG Gin No. 0

Elg Gin No. 3 is a “Navy Strength” gin. “Navy Strength” derives from the concept of “proof spirits”, a term which originated with sailors in the 19th century.

Elg Gin No. 3 is based on the same three distillates as Elg Gin No. 1. It contains 10% more alcohol than No. 1 and 34% more flavours, resulting in an even higher intensity in terms of both aroma and taste than ELG GIN No. 1. It has more citrus notes compared to No. 1.

Just like ELG GIN No. 1, No. 3 is designed to be the perfectly mixer for many different cocktails, such as Gimlet, which simply consists of equal parts of gin and lime juice and lots of ice, or as a G & T with Fever Trees Mediterranean Tonic and a slice of lemon.

ELG Gin No. 3

Elg Gin No. 2 is an “Old Tom” gin. The term Old Tom comes from from Tom Chamberlain, also known as “Old Tom”, who was the master distiller and partner of Hodges Distillery at the beginning of the 19th century.

Elg Gin No. 2 is based on the same three distillates as Elg Gin No. 1, to which is added an alcoholic extract of juniper berries. Soaking dried juniper berries in 50% pure wheat alcohol for four weeks produces the extract. The result is a dark brown extract containing a wide variety of flavours and sweetness, which are removed in the distillation process.

Drink it neat, “on the rocks”, or enjoy it in drinks with ginger beer such as gin and stormy.

Cucumber Symphony wurde als Teil einer Symbiose mit Fever-Tree Cucumber Tonic entwickelt und bietet ein harmonisches und erfrischendes Geschmackserlebnis. Es ist eine Weiterentwicklung von ELG Gin No. 0, wo schwarzer Pfeffer, frischer Dill und Quittenfrucht hinzugefügt worden sind. Ginnen ist eine Limited Edition in Zusammenarbeit mit Iben Diamant von WhyNotGin.

Christmas Elg Gin is a green gin.

Christmas Elg Gin is made from juniper berries, coriander and carrots. The green colour comes from the green part of the carrots, which has been soaked in alcohol. It contributes the green colour and a special taste. The label shows a moose with a red bow drawn by Donna Race donnarace.com.

Take a glass and fill it with ice cubes. Add gin and tonic. Press a piece of mandarin or clementine into the glass containing the gin and tonic. Garnish with another piece of mandarin or clementine. 

ELG Christmas Gin

ELG Sloe Gin ist ein klassischer Sloe Gin auf dänischen Schlehedorn von Dyrelund in Hillerød und ELG Gin No. 1 basiert. Es wird 800 Gramm Schlehedorn per Liter für den fertigen Sloe Gin verwendet.

Für die Herstellung von Sloe Gin wird 800 Gramm Schlehedorn per Liter fertigen Sloe Gin verwendet. Die Schlehedornbeeren werden Ende des Jahres beim Eintritt des Frostes geerntet, wonach sie 6 Monate zusammen mit dem Elg Gin No. 1 ziehen, der mit dänsichem Zucker gesüßt wurde. Dann wird der Saft davon gegossen und die Beeren werden gepresst.

ELG Oak Gin is a barrel-aged oak gin from a single cask which produced only 496 bottles. It was made from Elg Gin No. 3 and left to age for 18 months in a 250-litre Oloroso sherry cask, which was emptied just before the gin was added.

Just like Elg Gin No. 1, Elg Gin No. 4 is based on juniper berries, coriander seeds and carrots, but an extract of purple carrots has also been used. The carrots come from Denmark.

In July, freshly picked purple carrots arrive at the distillery and are immediately soaked in a solution of which the alcohol content is 50%. The solution gradually becomes more purple. At the same time, the percentage of alcohol decreases as the alcohol also draw water out of the carrots. After 1 week, the carrots are sifted out and the purple extract is filtered. The result is an extraction of 38% alc. vol., which contains a wide range of flavours not obtained by distillation. The colorant anthocyanin is a well known antioxidant.

Elg Gin No. 4 is a gin that can be enjoyed with ice and tonic, but also goes well with a vermouth such as dry martini. Adding tonic or vermouth to Elg Gin No. 4 causes the colour to change slightly to pink.

Arctic Blue Gin is all about experiencing the harmony of the exceptional northern nature. Because we don’t believe in chill-filtering our spirits, all of the natural aromas, pectins and essential oils of bilberries – the wild Arctic blueberries – are preserved in our gin. This is why it turns into an elegant cloudy white shade when topped with tonic water.

The scent is an aromatic combination of fragrant spruces and bilberry shrubs. The distinguished flavour has elegant notes of juniper, bilberries (the wild Arctic blueberries), coniferous forest and spices.

Circus Gin “This Is Me” is a spicy and aromatic small batch gin, which with its light freshness as well as round and soft body - gives a delicate and tasteful gin tonic or as an ingredient in a cocktail, where it provides an elegant taste of cardamom, juniper, black pepper, lime and vanilla. 

Botanicals: Juniper, cardamom, Tonga beans, licorice root, cinnamon, angelica root, buckthorn, dried orange peel, lime, elderflower. 

In total, Circus Gin contains 13 different botanical plants, but some of them are kept secret.

When researching for the perfect recipe for a ‘new generation gin’ I discovered that the geranium plant had been used for centuries for healing purposes against depression and fatique along with juniper, coriander and lemon which are the base ingredients of almost every gin. And when my chemist father made the chemical analysis of the geranium we found that the same essential oils were present in most fruits, berries and spices that are being used for making gin based cocktails. And combining my knowledge within gin with my fathers chemical skills we achieved to create this recipe for what became one of the worlds highest rated gins.

Circus Gin – The one 

“Some say less is more. A gin with a very light juniper taste. Smooth and with great citrus”.

An elegant, aromatic and well-balanced gin. Refreshing and with a light taste of juniper berries makes it easy to enjoy for any occasion. The focus is on fresh orange and lemon peels with a twist of fresh lemon balm. 
Botanicals: Juniper, angelica root, lemon peels, lime, buckthorn, dried orange peel, coriander, lemon balm, elderflower.

Rammstein Gin is an aromatic Dry Gin offering a vibrant blend of Botanicals using juniper, coriander, angelica root and lemon peel. Not so much a "Feier frei" kind of spirit but definitely an "Ohne dich kann ich nicht sein" type of gin. The perfect base for refreshing G&T on any other gin cocktail enjoyed on ice and in good company.
