Everyone is talking about it, legal hemp is currently very popular. The active ingredient cannabidiol (CBD) is celebrated as a new miracle drug. In contrast to THC (tetrahydrocannabinol), CBD has no psychoactive effects, so it is not a drug and therefore legal. The CBD hemp is said to have a sleep-inducing, antibacterial or anti-inflammatory effect. The wilder rumors about the cure are based on the drug's ability to kill cancer cells. However, the CBD hemp has not yet been investigated enough to be able to provide evidence here.
But also: CBD hemp is grown in Switzerland, is legal, as mentioned, and its aroma is unmistakable. Reason enough to launch a gin on this basis.
The Rheinbrand Gin Hemp Edition has been available since April 2018. CBD hemp is used, which comes from the region and is added to the distillation. This CBD hemp is legally available, has no effect on the central nervous system and is therefore not intoxicating, but has a calming effect. The gin is unique and worth a try.
The way to this gin was a rocky one. Many attempts, meticulous tests and a lot of patience were necessary to get today's product. Sometimes the gin was too strong, then again too weak - the right mixture was a great challenge. The manufacturers were all the more pleased with the result. The gin - distilled on the proven Rheinbrand basis - impresses with a fine aroma and subtle grass note, which is noticeable but not in the foreground. The slightly grassy nature of this gin makes it an exciting element in the art of mixing bartenders and allows new creations.
The gin was also tested during production. And the much-quoted reassuring element did apply. Whether this is due to the gin or the hemp is still unclear and now part of a detailed investigation and numerous self-experiments.
