Der Unit 43 wird mit den südafrikanischen Wildkräuter Fynbos und Buchu destilliert, diese werden in der heimischen Region auch für medizinische Tinkturen eingesetzt, weil man ihnen vielseitige entkrampfende und entgiftende Wirkungen zusagt, darüber hinaus wird noch Koriander hinzugemischt, man schmeckt den Wacholder und erfährt dann im Finish eine würzige und zitronige Note. 

Tasting Notes:
Nase: Deutliche Wacholder- und Kiefernnoten mit hellen Zitrusfrüchten und anhaltender Würze, verwoben mit grünen, kräuterigen Fynbos, alle wunderschön ausbalanciert.
Gaumen: Seidig mit Kiefer und Wacholder. Süße Würze aus Paradieskörner und Zitrusfrüchten mit einem Hauch von Kardamom und einem Hauch von Koriander. Hell und komponiert mit einer floralen Fynbos-Präsenz.
Finish: Würzig mit einer wunderbaren Balance aus erdigen Fynbos und einer pinienartigen Mischung aus Wacholder und Zitrusfrüchten.

Der Classic Knysna Gin aus Südafrika hat als Hauptbotanical die südafrikanische Num Num Berry, welche ein einzigartiges und unvergleichliches Geschmackserlebnis bietet. Die Num Num Berry ist eine einheimische süß schmeckende rote Frucht und eine Hommage an die Stadt Knysna. Der Classic Knysna Gin ist würzig und hat eine leichte Süße und Fruchtigkeit.&nbsp;
Klar wahrnehmbar sind Sternanis und natürlich Wacholder. Auch Kardamom, Koriander sowie Mondia Whitei geben ihm die Würze, während Honigbusch, Mandeln, Zimt die süßlichen Noten abrunden. Alle Zutaten begleiten das Wacholderaroma, ohne jedoch den Geschmack zu dominieren. Der Classic Knysna Gin hat einzigartige Aromen und versteht es die Würze und Süße perfekt zu balancieren.
 
Der Gin wird von Hand destilliert, in einer mit Feuer beheizten Alembic Destille mit Kupferbrennkessel. Das feine Aroma stellt die angewendete Dampfextraktion bzw. „vapour infusion“ sicher. Der Knysna Gin wird 12h destilliert bevor er seine 30 tägige Ruhezeit antritt. Das Ergebnis ist ein reiner, milder Gin.

However, the most important botanical here is a relatively unseen species of juniper, Juniper Procera (most gins use Juniper Communis), also known as African juniper as it only grows in the highlands of Kenya and Ethiopia. This different variety gives the gin a nuttier, earthier backbone. After distillation, the gin is bottled into stunning hand-blown bottles, also produced in Nairobi. A truly unique gin.
