Der Classic Knysna Gin aus Südafrika hat als Hauptbotanical die südafrikanische Num Num Berry, welche ein einzigartiges und unvergleichliches Geschmackserlebnis bietet. Die Num Num Berry ist eine einheimische süß schmeckende rote Frucht und eine Hommage an die Stadt Knysna. Der Classic Knysna Gin ist würzig und hat eine leichte Süße und Fruchtigkeit.&nbsp;
Klar wahrnehmbar sind Sternanis und natürlich Wacholder. Auch Kardamom, Koriander sowie Mondia Whitei geben ihm die Würze, während Honigbusch, Mandeln, Zimt die süßlichen Noten abrunden. Alle Zutaten begleiten das Wacholderaroma, ohne jedoch den Geschmack zu dominieren. Der Classic Knysna Gin hat einzigartige Aromen und versteht es die Würze und Süße perfekt zu balancieren.
 
Der Gin wird von Hand destilliert, in einer mit Feuer beheizten Alembic Destille mit Kupferbrennkessel. Das feine Aroma stellt die angewendete Dampfextraktion bzw. „vapour infusion“ sicher. Der Knysna Gin wird 12h destilliert bevor er seine 30 tägige Ruhezeit antritt. Das Ergebnis ist ein reiner, milder Gin.

Quadruple distilled from the finest white grape spirits in small batches. Extensive fractional distillation produces a smooth base of the finest quality and purity. This pure spirit is then infused with premium juniper berries and elements from 33 indigenous botanicals, sustainably hand harvested for their bark, roots, berries, flowers, stems, peels or leaves. Most of these botanicals are members of the fynbos group of plants for which the region is world famous.
These botanicals are macerated in the alcoholic base prior distillation to allow for optimal binding of the herbal aromas. Vapour-path extraction of flavours are then achieved by suspending the botanicals from the top of the kettle in a muslin bag.
A stepwise bending of pure Franschhoek granite mountain spring water results in a truly unique gin of the highest quality.

Tasting Notes:
Nase: Deutliche Wacholder- und Kiefernnoten mit hellen Zitrusfrüchten und anhaltender Würze, verwoben mit grünen, kräuterigen Fynbos, alle wunderschön ausbalanciert.
Gaumen: Seidig mit Kiefer und Wacholder. Süße Würze aus Paradieskörner und Zitrusfrüchten mit einem Hauch von Kardamom und einem Hauch von Koriander. Hell und komponiert mit einer floralen Fynbos-Präsenz.
Finish: Würzig mit einer wunderbaren Balance aus erdigen Fynbos und einer pinienartigen Mischung aus Wacholder und Zitrusfrüchten.

Master Distiller Helmut Wilderer, the father of South African craft spirits, personally hand selected 27 indigenous botanicals of which	many belong to the Cape Fynbos Floral Kingdom. Flowers, berries, barks, peels, roots, stems and leaves ranging from rose petals to Renosterbos all come together in harmony.

Production Process:
Fresh ingredients and flowers are hand-picked from the estate’s gardens, while specialized Fynbos species and other herbs are sustainably harvested and include: the famous Buchu Betulina, which has been used as a traditional South African medicine for hundreds of years and provides a distinctive herbal aroma and taste. Wild Dagga's active ingredient: leonurine has been proven to improve myocardial function and is also used as a recreational remedy for high blood pressure and stress. Honeybush provides further depth and complex flavor to this full-bodied gin. 

The finest quality South African spirits are derived from white wine through extensive fractional distillation resulting in a truly neutral and smooth base of unparalleled quality. Premium juniper berries are infused in order to provide the best aromatic platform which binds all 27 botanicals in stunning complexity. All botanicals are macerated in the alcoholic base before distillation to allow for optimal binding of the herbal aroma to the alcohol. Thereafter the botanicals are placed in a porous bag and suspended from the top of the kettle to allow for more effective vapor-path extraction of flavors. Distillation takes place in Wilderer's state-of-the-art German custom- built craft distillery. Small batches. 40 liters at a time. 

The raw product undergoes a stepwise blending with pure Franschhoek mountain spring water to a final alcohol percentage of 45. Bottled and labelled by hand, each bottle undergoes a final inspection, before dispatching. 

Tasting notes: 
Exceptionally smooth to the palate, all 27 botanicals are harmoniously combined in harmony to create a deep and 
complex herbaceous structure. Juniper, along with key ingredients such as Buchu, Wild Dagga and Honeybush, create a unique taste, that can be described as walking through the Fynbos fields of the Western Cape.

During the Prohibition era, the production, sale and transport of spirits was prohibited. This gave rise to the moonshine industry. During this time, people passively fought against the great social experiment that suppressed their freedom to celebrate with alcohol. The year 1933 marked the end of prohibition. For us, '33 represents the spirit of challenge to the establishment in the liquor industry.

JENNY
The Curtiss Aeroplane company manufactured the designated JN-4, but the common nickname was “Jenny” with an open-topped four appearing as a Y. 
The Jenny was the most prevalent bootlegger’s plane due to Army surplus sold off to civilian pilots after World War I. It was difficult for authorities to catch bootleggers in the air between towns.

Botanicals
The main botanicals of Juniper berries (carefully selected from Italy, the Balkans & Bulgaria), Macadamia nuts, Almonds, Grapefruit (all from the Lowveld), Coriander and Pepper are prominent and easily identifiable.

Colour
Jenny is a dry gin, perfectly clear as it comes out the still.

Aroma
It begins with a sweet citrus burst, followed by the spicy coriander and pepper. Juniper notes are accentuated as the alcohol continues to evaporate. Almond and Macadamia are only a back note on the aroma, but more prominent on the palate.

Palate
Citrus is immediately identifiable. Spicy coriander and pepper compliment the juniper flavours. Essential oils from the Macadamia nuts allow for superior extraction of flavours from the other botanicals during distillation. This leaves a smooth mouth feel and an unexpected contrast of flavours in a dry gin.

Staying true to this anti-prohibition style, this gin is named after a prohibition-era slang word for an old Ford (Flivver), which was the smugglers' vehicle of choice.

Made from the Double Delight rose varietal. The petals are infused into the alcohol, fresh petals hung inside the distillery for the alcohol vapor the slowly pass through the flowers and then blended with Double Delight rose water. 

This Gin is the true embodiment of roses with strong yet delicate rose aromas and flavors. Some cinnamon, clove and cardamom spice adds to a wonderful complexity.

Pinotage Stained, the love child of Six Dogs gin and our neighbour’s handpicked pinotage grapes, embodies the freshness of a classic dry gin that is enhanced with the infusion of a uniquely South African cultivar. Sip it and you’ll taste notes of black cherry, plum and blackcurrant, with some tannin for structure and complexity. Each year’s harvest of grapes may bring subtle variants in taste and colour, however the juniper-forward flavour is consistent with each batch.

Fun fact: Look closely at the box and you’ll notice the subtle outline of the African continent, alluding to the uniquely South African cultivar.

Perfect serve: Enjoy it neat over ice or dilute with a splash of good tonic to create a fusion of terroir, cultivar and fine gin. If you enjoy adding garnish, we recommend frozen red grapes or a slice of fresh citrus. Pinotage also pairs well with an artisanal cheese board.

A bush delicacy for the Indlovu is the prickly pear cactus, especially the delicious, delicately flavoured fruit. Removing the prickles is no problem for these intelligent beasts who use theirfeet to rub away the thorns – we don’t advise trying this at home! The prickly pear contains polyphenols, minerals and vitamins and in traditional medicine, the pulp of the prickly pear fruit has been used to treat inflammation and even hangovers. Close your eyes, take a sip and indulge inflavours of the African elephants’ savannah delicacy.  The prickly pear are selected in Gauteng and Western Cape during season and infused into our gin.

An amber variant of the Bloedlemoen Gin, this was developed some years after the launch of the original, in response to the need for a richer gin for winter.
 
Infused with a range of fynbos botanicals, including lemon buchu and nutmeg pelargonium, it is macerated post-distillation with local honeybush, which gives it a rich colour and warm, sweet caramel notes.

Herbs, dried and fresh tea leaves of buchu and rooibos, cloves, cedar wood shavings and pine are joined by delicate lemon peel, menthol, dark berries, moss and earthiness.
 
Flavours of forest honey, maple and almonds deliver sweet and toasty notes. The African Botanicals Gin expresses soft, round and elegant herbal scents that separates this Gin from any other. All botanicals are carefully selected to underline the tempting marriage of South Africa’s indigenous flora and elegant juniper berries.

Der Gin wird von Hand destilliert, in einer mit Feuer beheizten Alembic Destille mit 
Kupferbrennkessel. Das feine Aroma stellt die angewendete Dampfextraktion bzw. 
„vapour infusion“ sicher. Der Knysna Gin wird 12h destilliert bevor er seine 30 tägige

Maceration is where botanicals are steeped in the liquid in the pot of the still. The distinctive aroma is obtained through vapour infusion, where the more delicate botanicals are placed in two baskets which sit above the pot still.

Spice Island is our newest and most exciting gin. It is smooth, complex and versatile and probably the finest gin we have made. Its inspiration is derived from sailing adventures in the Indian Ocean, with many fond memories of Zanzibar, that romantic quintessential Spice Island. 

Despite its name, this is a typical dry distilled gin. with just a hint of subtle spices. The gentle vapour infusion with characteristic spices of Zanzibar creates a subtle uplifting, heady and complex gin. This gin lends itself to the most interesting pairings because different mixers and garnishes are dramatically emphasized, creating strikingly different cocktails. 

It is absolutely delicious as a straight G&T with Indian Tonic garnished with grapefruit and a splash of cranberry juice creates our signature Zanzibar Sunset cocktail. Garnish with a slice of ginger and a dried chilli or red peppercorns for an aromatic hot spice drink, or add a cinnamon stick and a slice of orange for a festive Christmassy G&T. And when it gets cold, make a warming Gin Hot Toddy to see you through a cold winter. 

This is a gin that invites bold experimentation and is superb with floral or citrus flavoured tonics, garnished with abundant sweet citrus or berries and beautiful edible flowers.

Hope London Dry Gin is distilled the traditional way, using grain spirit as its base. The resulting soft and smooth finish is of exacting quality and can be served neat or with a mixer. This juniper-forward gin is infused with seven botanicals using a combination of maceration and vapour infusion. The flavour profile has a uniquely South African twist - lemon pelargonium adds bright lemon notes and rosemary gives it a rounded herbaceousness.

Made only from natural ingredients, the Cape Dry expresses our desire to create a classic dry gin that pays tribute to the astonishing unique Floral Kingdom around us in the Deep South of the Cape Peninsula. 

Distilled slowly and with great care, the result is a beautifully-balanced, juniper-forward gin with a dry citrus and herbal profile. Sustainably harvested mountain buchus, supplemented by those that we cultivate at the distillery, add lovely herbal and floral aromas and flavours. 

This multi-award-winning gin is perfectly suited to a classic Gin and Tonic, but its versatility means that it excels in a range of cocktails from the traditional Gin Martini or Negroni, to more adventurous gin drinks like the Gimlet, the Southside (gin mojito), or even a Gin Hot Toddy for cold winter evenings.

Harmony Honeybush Gin is made by distilling 10 carefully selected botanicals in small batches using a technique called vapour infusion. This technique allows the alcohol vapours to pass over the botanicals, condensing the complex aromas and flavours to form a fresher, more delicate tasting gin. A percentage of unaged gin is then married over several days, with the finest honeybush tea leaves, mixed back together and rested, enriching the texture to transform it into a delicate amber-hued gin.

Aroma: Fresh, complex floral nose with fynbos honeybush notes combined with hints of citrus zest.
