The Classic Knysna Gin from South Africa has as its main botanical the South African Num Num Berry, which offers a unique and incomparable taste experience. The Num Num Berry is an indigenous sweet-tasting red fruit and a tribute to the town of Knysna. The Classic Knysna Gin is spicy and has a slight sweetness and fruitiness.
Clearly perceptible are star anise and of course juniper. Cardamom, coriander and Mondia Whitei also add spice, while honeybush, almonds and cinnamon round off the sweet notes. All ingredients accompany the juniper aroma, but without dominating the taste. The Classic Knysna Gin has unique flavours and knows how to balance the spice and sweetness perfectly.
The gin is distilled by hand in a fire-heated Alembic still with a copper pot still. The fine aroma is ensured by the use of vapour infusion. The Knysna Gin is distilled for 12 hours before it is left to rest for 30 days. The result is a pure, mild gin.
