City Of London Sloe Gin
+ Fever-Tree Lemon Tonic Water + Lemon

The City of London Sloe Gin comes, as the name suggests, from the gin city itself: London. Even if London appears in the name, it is not a traditional classic gin. The wonderful City of London Sloe Gin is part of the portfolio of the City of London micro-distillery. It is located on Bride Lane in the heart of London, just a few minutes' walk from St. Paul's Cathedral. The distillery has only existed since 2012, but here they revived a great tradition that has lasted for several centuries. Because until almost 200 years ago the legislation surrounding the Gin Act sold all gin distilleries and gin pubs from London, you had the opportunity to taste a gin at almost every corner. The elegant gin bottle already gives us an idea of what type of gin it is (of course only if you haven't read the name yet). The red color of the content is rather untypical for a gin. And to be honest, this is not 100% a gin either, because a sloe gin is actually not a real gin. But exceptions prove the rule! From a neutral point of view, it is a liqueur. Translated, the gin actually means sloe liqueur, but it does not meet the criteria of the EU spirits regulation for gin. Nevertheless, an exception was made in the EU regulation for the Sloe Gin variety. Strictly speaking, Sloe Gin is a liqueur made from the berries of the sloe thorn or black thorn. This variety is often cloudy, but the sloes give the gin a reddish and mild note. The mildness of the gin is due to the alcohol content. If you prefer a slightly milder gin, you should definitely try a sloe gin, because it only has around 30% vol. During production, the small bluish sloe berries are macerated for several months in a classic London Dry Gin. The City of London Sloe Gin tastes dry, sweet, flowery and has a subtle bitter note. In addition to the sloes mentioned above, blueberries, black pepper and the classic London Dry Gin flavors ensure this flavor composition. The finish convinces with long-lasting and spicy notes.
