The London Dry Gin pays homage to the 2000-year history of Dubrovnik, the great maritime republic and its great son Benedikt "Beno" Kotruljević. This gin is a real Croatian gin, distilled in Zadar, Dalmatia.
The label bears the reproduction of the first known depiction of a compass rose of the Adriatic, which is contained in Kotruljević's sailing manual from 1464.
Only four botanicals are used: juniper, fresh Dubrovnik bitter orange, fresh seafenchel, immortelle
A handmade copper pot is used because copper plays an important role as a catalyst and flavor regulator. Despite all tradition and craftsmanship, a clean gin should be distilled with distinguishable botanicals.
The botanicals are macerated for two nights and a day - a length that comes from an English gin recipe from the 18th century. It ensures a gentle extraction of the essential oils. It is carefully distilled and fractions controlled for up to 9 hours to ensure taste and quality.
After the pure distillate has settled, we reduce it to a strength of 47% vol.
Dubrovnik Republic Croatian Gin is unfiltered - filtering is simply not necessary and would reduce the content of essential oils, which have been carefully distilled.
