A remarkable gin from the bracing waters and shoreline of Scotland. Edinburgh Seaside Gin encapsulates the wonder of the shoreline near Edinburgh. This softly sweet, mineralistic London Dry uses botanicals that were foraged on beaches around Edinburgh. Bladderwrack seaweed, scurvygrass and ground ivy make this gin reminiscent of a bracing walk on a Scottish beach. Launched in 2015, Seaside was the result of a collaboration with the team at the International Centre for Brewing &amp; Distilling at Herriot Watt University in Edinburgh – bringing together the expertise of our Head Distiller while helping nurture a new generation of gin innovators. The culmination of this project is an extraordinary gin that has a fresh sweetness on the nose, characterised by soft salinity and herbaceous, grassy notes on the palate, followed by a clean finish.

Edinburgh took the time and great care to get Rhubarb & Ginger Gin just right. Beautifully balanced and crafted with warm spiciness, tangy sweetness, more juniper and more gin. The Classic London Dry is at the base. Botanicals including aromatic lemongrass and sweet mulberry are joined by natural rhubarb and ginger, carefully sourced, pressed, then finally infused together. The result is a bright and sociable gin with a little heat, an abundance of fruit, crisp, piney notes and a full finish.

Inspired by Edinburgh’s rich naval heritage of cannons and the famous One O’clock Gun, the Cannonball Gin is a Navy Strength gin that lives up to its evocative name. Cannonball resurrects a historic style of gin commissioned by the British Navy, making this gin an homage to Edinburgh’s seafaring past.

Bottled at 57.2% ABV, Cannonball is 100% proof, and defined by intense juniper and Oriental spice. With twice the juniper content of the classic Edinburgh Gin, it packs quite the punch. Szechuan peppercorns add a spicy note while zesty lemon and orange balance out the citrus profile.

Cannonball is a strong, characterful gin that can be enjoyed straight up or in a G&T. It makes for a vigorously refreshing Dry Martini, served with a lemon twist to complement the gin’s peppery, zestier notes.

The finest grain spirit is brought together with an original balance of 14 botanicals. The woody hint of pine buds, aromatic lemongrass and floral lavender are all present. Fruity jammy flavour from black mulberries balances perfectly with the citrus from the orange and lime peels in the finish. Hazelnuts, thick with natural oils, add texture and a smooth mouthfeel.

The true spirit of the festive season, the Christmas Gin is flavoured with an array of unique botanicals. Defined by spiced, aromatic notes of frankincense and myrrh and classic juniper, this makes for a warming gin either to sip or mix with.

Rich aromatics include zesty sweet orange, while a finishing note of nutmeg adds comforting yuletide warmth.

Bottled at 43% ABV, Christmas Gin can be enjoyed in a festive G&T with orange garnish, complementing the gin’s complex flavours and aromas. It also works perfectly in a Negroni, the sweet myrrh providing balance to Campari’s bitter finish.

The Botanist Gin wurde von der Whisky-Destillerie Bruichladdich auf der Hebrideninnsel Islay in Schottland kreiert. Sein milder und runder Geschmack basiert auf 22 lokalen Botanicals. Der professionelle und hauptberufliche Forager, James Donaldson, sammelt die Botanicals noch heute von Hand. Er sammelt sie auf den Hügeln, in den Mooren und an den Küstenlinien von Islay, wodurch The Botanist seinen ganz eigenen Islay Charakter erhält.
Besonders wichtig für den milden und ausgewogenen Geschmack ist neben den Botanicals auch die außerordentlich langsame Destillation in der Lomond-Kupferbrennblase namens "Ugly Betty". Die Aromen werden je nach Botanical durch Mazeration oder durch Dampfinfusion gewonnen. Adam Hannett, Head Distiller bei Bruichladdich, vertraut dabei auf seine Erfahrung und Intuition ganz ohne High-Tec Equipment. Wann die optimale Temperatur erreicht ist, misst er zum Beispiel noch heute, indem er die Hand auf die Brennblase legt. Um den fertig destillierten Gin auf Trinkstärke zu reduzieren, wird Wasser aus der eigenen Quelle verwendet.

Traditioneller London Dry Gin aus einer Brennerei, die erst seit 2009 existiert. Grundlage für diesen Gin bildet ein selbst hergestelltes Destillat aus Roggen, in welches zum Wacholder u. a. Botanicals wie Orangen- und Zitronenschalen, Angelikawurzel, Lakritz und Mandeln hinzugefügt werden. Angenehmes Preis-Leistungsverhältnis, geeignet als Everyday-Gin für solche, die es ein wenig herber mögen.
