BlueJean (gin), 41.8% alcohol by volume, 0.0% sugar.
BlueJean is a blend of ‘compound gin’ and ‘distilled gin’. Our ‘botanicals’ are: Juniper berries (alcoholic maceration and distillation), juniper twigs (hydrolate), rosemary (evaporation and distillation), Buddha's hand, a citronate lemon like the Cedro. (evaporation), Damask rose (evaporation and distillation), white peach (alcoholic maceration and distillation), gardenia extract, a hibiscus flower. (maceration). The botanicals are prepared individually with grain spirit (from organic wheat) or water, partly by digestion, partly by cold maceration and partly by evaporation. Only the colouring botanicals are then distilled separately and blended with the remaining flavour extracts. The first thing the ‘gin shot or straigth’ drinker notices is the aroma of juniper berries, followed by rosemary and a hint of candied lemon peel. The roses mute the juniper flavour somewhat and the white peach makes the gin soft and velvety despite its high alcohol content. Enjoyed as a classic ‘gin and tonic’, the rather strong ‘Kranebitter’ turns into a refreshing lemonade and becomes an extremely dangerous ‘little juice’...
We recommend adding a sprig of fresh rosemary and a slice of lime.
In the Martini cocktail, the supreme discipline of gin, all the flavours that were previously hidden are suddenly revealed. Juniper and rosemary clearly dominate, the Damask rose shines through and the gentle cedar flavour of Buddha's hand is reminiscent of the Mediterranean. The pale blue tone of the gardenia is reminiscent of the Tyrolean glaciers...
