Audemus is based in the heart of the old town of Cognac, France. Spirits production has a long history in this region. Distiller Miko Abouaf worked in the industry for years before starting his own business with Audemus Spirits in 2013.
Audemus Spirits combine modern techniques with traditional methods. They use the vacuum distillation process. This process lowers the boiling temperature of the alcohol, the botanicals are not cooked and the freshness of the taste is retained.
Umami stands for the fifth taste - in addition to the well-known tastes sweet, sour, salty and bitter. Umami is often described as hearty-intensive, spicy or piquant.
The Audemus Umami Gin is based on southern Italian capers, juniper, bergamot and an infusion of Parmigiano-Reggiano Parmesan cheese. The base is a neutral grain brandy. The distillate is then stored in an old cognac cask for several months. This ultimately results in a very special and slightly spicy gin!
Botanicals: Bergamot, Capers, Parmigiano-Reggiano, Juniper
