The Elfer-Gin Special 2022 impresses with its 11 finely coordinated botanicals. Of course, the juniper berry is included, which is present but not extremely dominant. There are also yuzu, acacia seeds, liquorice, mate, matcha, saffron, kumquats, currants, blood oranges and real vanilla. This gin really deserves to be drunk pure. With its 49.5% vol., the Elfer-Gin Special 2022 is strong, but not overwhelming. The botanicals are so gracefully combined with the alcohol and the juniper berries that this cannot even be guessed when tasting them neat. A small drop of bitterness, this edition is, as the name suggests, limited and will not be produced later.
