National Gin & Tonic Day is on its fifth edition. Gin Lovers Gin its third.
After a Gin which we adapted followed by a Gin thought up and created from scratch, here is our 2017 Edition, a 100% Gin Lovers production.
The directive was simple: make a Gin that is agreeable to the greatest number of people possible. Juniper and Citrus for the purists and traditionalists, but smooth and fruity enough to convince those less accustomed to the bitter sip of this our favourite spirit.
This edition was thought up from scratch but always had as its base the knowledge and opinions we have gathered from the previous versions.  Straight away we reduced the degree of botanicals to make a cleaner and more direct flavour. There are now 32 botanicals used in Gin Lovers Gin, reducing the floral and herbal elements to allow the citrus ones to shine through. Rose petals, Globe Amaranth, Iceland Moss (a lichen) and Breckland Thyme, among others, were left out of the production of Gin Lovers 2017.
We also altered the balance of the power players. Juniper still occupies central stage but it is now accompanied by lemon verbena, pine sprigs and a mixture of citrus fruits, still leaving space for the warmer spices like cinnamon, cassia bark and nutmeg.
Changing a product, especially a Gin, is a complicated step by step process where the whole is always different from the sum of its parts. We wanted a Gin which inherited some of the complex aromas of Xmas Edition 2016 but on the other hand had a more defined matrix with strong vertexes of juniper, pine sprigs, lemon verbena and the citrus fruits.
The alcohol level has also been lowered with the idea of increasing the lightness of the Gin without compromising the depth of aromas. It is now 41% vol.
This decrease in alcohol level goes with the decrease in complexity. In other words, the 2016 versions demanded a higher level of alcohol to carry all of its aromas. The simplification of the botanical palette and almost the entire elimination of floral and herbal elements permits a decrease in alcohol.
Gin Lovers 2017 is therefore a Gin which sits somewhere between classic London Drys and deeper aroma Gins. On tasting, expect the juniper to be refreshed by the pine sprigs and the lemon verbena, followed by the mix of citrus fruits where the orange crosses with the vivacity of bergamot and a warm finish punctuated by warm spices.

Developed over 3 years, intends to honor the city that saw Gin Lovers born and grow.
A Gin that breathes Lisbon, inspired by its 7 hills, uses in his distillation 7 traditional botanicals, plus 7 additional local botanicals that make us travel through the city and its history: petals of clove, cinnamon, coffee, salt, portuguese basil (manjerico), Arinto grapes, lettuce.
All botanicals are cold infused to ensure a unique freshness, and distilled in small stills for better production control.
Developed by Gin Lovers in partnership with one of the most promising national distillers, is distilled in the district of Lisbon in traditional copper stills using an alcohol based cereal.
The end result is a charismatic, young, fresh and versatile Gin where we find the salty, sweet and citric as the main aromas.

Baga, die exklusive Traube der Region Bairrada, war Ausgangspunkt dieser Kreation. Es wurde auf der Bergkette von Bucaco bis zur Küste nach speziellen, besonders ausgefallenen Ingredienzien geforscht. Alles, um einen wahren Rohdiamanten zu erschaffen.
Mehrere Destillationen, Labortests und intensive Untersuchungen an den gefundenen 86 pflanzlichen Stoffen folgten, ehe 18 davon ausgewählt wurden. Einige unter ihnen sind gewöhnlicher, wie z. B. Wacholder, Hibiskus, Pennyroyal, Orange, Zitrone, Zimt, Ingwer oder Kardamom. Andere wiederum gewagter, wie z. B. Baga-Traube, Salvia, Lavendel und einige weitere Zutaten, die ein Geheimnis bleiben. Im Zusammenspiel verleihen sie dem "ADAMUS Organic Dry Gin" seinen exklusiven, ganz ursprünglichen Charakter. Unvergleichbar mit allem, was man bislang als Seele eines solchen Tropfens kannte.
Mit handwerklichem Geschick, untrüblichem Geruchssinn sowie essenziellen Werkzeugen zur Finalisierung eines Gins wurde ein Diamant geschliffen. Bereit, um anspruchsvollen Kennern Hochgenuss zu bereiten.
2015 schlug die Geburtsstunde der ersten Edition "ADAMUS Organic Dry Gin". In einer limitierten Serie von lediglich 4.448 Flaschen.

António Cuco und sein Gin nicht auf zu begeistern und er präsentiert nun Sharish - Blue Magic.
Unter den Botanicals findet man Erdbeeren, Himbeeren, Zimt, Kardamom, Zitrone, Angelikawurzel, Ingwer, Lakritze, Koriandersamen und Wacholder. Der Star seines neuen Gins ist eine Pflanze namens Clitoria ternatea, die dem Gin einen natürlichen Blauton verleiht ohne Zugabe von künstlichen Farbstoffen.&nbsp;
Laut dem Hersteller hat der Gin einen “magic touch”. Durch die Zugabe von Tonic Water verändert sich die Mixtur von blau in ein zartes rosa.

Destilliert in einer traditionellen Portugiesischen Destille, beinhaltet er neun sorgfältig ausgesuchte Botanicals: Wacholder, Zimt, Koriandersamen, Nelken, Vanille, Orangenschale, Zitronenschale, Bravo de Esmolfe Apfel PDO (Geschützte Produktbezeichnung) und Zitronenverbene. Die letzten vier Botanicals werden in frischem Zustand verarbeitet. 

Aufgrund der unterschiedlichen Eigenschaften und Verdampfungstemperatur, werden die Botanicals separat und besonders langsam destilliert um eine bessere Qualität in der finalen Destillation zu erreichen. Während des Prozesses werden die Mazerationsrückstände gefiltert, um den klaren Farbton zu erhalten.

Der Black Pig Montado Alentejano Gin wird ausschließlich mit regionalen Botanicals aus Alentejo hergestellt. Der Dry Gin wird mit dem eigenen Alkohol produziert, dafür durchläuft der Gin vom destillieren der Botanicals einen drei- bis viermonatigen Gärungsprozess. Der Black Pig Montado Gin wird in einem traditionellen Kupferdestillat dreifach destilliert.

Im Black Pig Costa Gin ist das schwarze Ferkel nicht nur im Namen, sondern auch auf der Flasche des Gins zu finden. Dem Tinto Red Premium Gin wurden für seine tiefrote Farbe nicht etwa Weintrauben oder Schlehenbeeren hinzugefügt, sondern Brombeeren. Doch das ist längst nicht alles: In dem portugiesischen Grenzort Valença, welcher am Fluss Minho liegt (die natürliche nördliche Grenze zu Spanien), sammelt João Guterres als wahrhaftiger Botanical-Liebhaber eine ganze Reihe an Zutaten ein, die seinem Getreidebrand aus Roggen und Gerste ein vielschichtiges Aroma verleihen. Im Detail wären das Dill, Mohn, Lavendel, Orangen und Zitronen, Katzenminze, Weidenblätter, Lorbeer, Holunderblüte, Rosmarin, Ruprechtskraut, Eukalyptus, Zitronenmelisse, Zitronenverbene, Brombeeren und natürlich Wacholder. Doch komplett ist die Rezeptur an dieser Stelle noch nicht, denn João Guterres wollte seiner Eigenkreation eine ganz besondere Nuance zugrundelegen. Es handelt sich um jenen säuerlich-süssen, fruchtig-saftigen Geschmack der Pêra Rocha, welcher ihm seit seinen Kindheitstagen bekannt war. Bevor man die portugiesische Birnensorte dem 90-tägigen Mazerationsprozess unterziehen kann, muss man allerdings geduldig bis zur Ernte im goldenen Oktober warten. Der Gin wird dann in der Destilería Decanter dreifach destilliert und von dort aus in die weite Welt versandt.
