Janneman is an exceptional London Dry Cask gin and is a finely distilled, handcrafted Dutch dry gin, with seven botanicals, which are first macerated – soaked in alcohol – and then added to the still. The Nepalese timut peppercorn (belonging to both the pepper and the citrus families) is the signature botanical of the distillery. This berry grows high in the Himalaya’s, and contains all the aromas which are so characteristic for all gins of the distillery. The base is for this gin is Duivelskral and the gin is finished on an American oak Bourbon cask that is also been used to finish Hertog Jan Grand Prestige beer. The finish makes Janneman smooth, adds a little color and adds nice sweet tones of the vanilla of the American oak.
