In order to create Le Gin de Christian Drouin Guillaume Drouin has been working on finding seasoning that would best balance, complete and enhance juniper and cider apple.
After distilling separately numerous plants, in the same way as a great blend is assembled, a final selection of 8 plants was made, all of them, with the exception of juniper, belonging to the aroma
universe of premium Calvados.
Creating harmony among these 8 aromas was the next step, then adjusting the recipe and at last understanding that our work process would enable us only to create "small batches" as the one plant at a time distillation process imposes to keep adjusting proportions so as to obtain the best possible blend.
Le Gin is the only Gin incorporating 30 cider apples varieties and 8 different aromatics. Each aromatic is separately distilled before being blended in proportions that are unique to each batch.
Rose and lemon provide delicacy. Ginger, vanilla, cinnamon and almond give the Gin a smooth, spicy body while cardamom enhances its fruit and roundness in the mouth. Juniper and apple complement one another with their heavy or high notes, spicy or crisp.

Calvados Christian Drouin keeps exploring new flavour associations.

After launching Le Gin de Christian Drouin in 2015, the only Gin elaborated using over 30 varieties of cider apples and 7 aromatic spices, carefully selected for their perfect match with apple and juniper
aromas, Guillaume Drouin signs a new blend devoted to red berries.

The same principles have presided the making of Carmina as they did for the original version of Le Gin : each aromatic ingredient is macerated and then separately distilled so as to optimize the extraction of aromas. The distillates are then assembled before bottling.

Carmina has a summer-like bouquet. It mixes fruit and flowers, using not only juniper and Normandy cider apple varieties but also raspberries, blackcurrants, elder flowers, vanilla, lemon and orange.

The packaging of Carmina respects the identity of Le Gin de Christian Drouin ; however the colour code is carmine as a reminder of the domineering aromas of this new gourmet gin with its hints of
raspberries and blackcurrants.

Limited edition: only 8550 bottles will be marketed.

Tasting advice: to be sipped neat or as a Gin Tonic, with a slice of lemon and a raspberry to decorate.

The Le Gin de Drouin Calvados Cask Finish is a barrel-aged gin. And absolutely more than a typical classic, because the basis is a cider.

The pastel golden color of the noble distillate has reached its perfection through the 6 months of storage in Calvados barrels. And Christian Drouin's main focus in the French distillery is actually on calvados. During the production of the barrel-aged gin, cider is now distilled and blended with a juniper distillate. There are also botanicals such as vanilla, lemons, cardamom, cinnamon, almonds and rose petals.

The bouquet clearly has spicy notes of cardamom and ginger, but with a strong apple presence. A soft rose aroma unfolds on the palate, combined with fine citrus nuances and a fruity finish, which is given a slightly nutty and long-lasting herbal note due to the barrel storage.

The result is an unmistakable gin in which the Calvados apple note always dominates and is perfectly complemented by the botanicals.

Bei diesem Gin steht die Birne im Mittelpunkt. Eine Sorte der Normandie Birne, genannt Domfront, wird mit Wacholder, Vanille, Zitrone, schwarzem Pfeffer und Iriswurzel kombiniert, der Blume, die die Dächer der Normandie-Häuser schmückt.
 
Pira wird nach den gleichen Prinzipien wie der ursprüngliche Le Gin hergestellt; Jedes Aroma wird separat mazeriert und erneut destilliert, um die Extraktion der Aromen zu optimieren. Die Destillate werden dann vor der Abfüllung gemischt.
 
Pira bietet Gourmet-Aromen von weißen Früchten, schwarzem Pfeffer und Iris, immer mit der aromatischen Intensität, die die charakteristischen Gins von Drouin auszeichnet.

G'Vine entstand aus einer Kooperation des Destillateurs Jean-Sébastien Robicquet mit dem Önologen Bruno de Reilhac. Die beiden Franzosen verfolgten die Idee, die moderne Ginkultur mit der französischen Weintradition in einem Produkt zu verbinden. Grundlage für G'Vine ist daher ein Traubenbrand aus der Rebsorte Ugni Blanc.
 
Dieser Brand wird in kleinen Batches destilliert und dient anschließend zur Mazeration von Wacholder, Muskatnuss, Ingwer, Süßholz, Zitrone, Koriander und Cassia.
Eine Besonderheit ist außerdem die Verwendung der grünen Weinblüte, aus der ein eigenes Destillat hergestellt wird, das den Gins ihre typische florale Note verleiht. Nur einmal im Jahr, in der Mitte des Monats Juni, blühen für wenige Tage die Weinpflanzen, bevor die Weintrauben entstehen. In Frankreich nennt man diese Periode „Floraison".
 
Geruch: Delikat, süß und blumig, mit einer scharfen Wärme (Andeutungen von Kardamon und Ingwer).
Geschmack: Weich, fein und rund, nach Wiese mit Blumen und Gewürzen. Der blumige Geschmack von der Weinblüte ist sehr vordergründig. Wacholder, Kardamon und Ingwer folgen. Der Abgang bringt den blumigen Geschmack zurück und ist sehr lang und trocken, klar und knackig.

Etsu is one of the top Nippon gins on the market. Etsu means ‘pleasure’ in Japanese.

This gin is made by the Asahikawa distillery in Hokkaido to an ancient Asian recipe that requires various herbs, spices and citrus fruits, some of which can only be found in Asia (berries, pepper, citrus).

What makes our very floral Etsu special is the lingering notes of orange peel and yuzu, a yellow citrus fruit very popular in Asia.

Destilliert wird dieser Gin von CITADELLE auf Château de Bonbonnet im Herzen der Region Cognac. Es kommen 25 hl Kupfer Pot Stills bei der Destillation zum Einsatz. Der Grundstoff ist ein Destillat aus französischem Weizen, der zuvor 3 Mal destilliert wurde. Eine Infusion von 22 Früchten und Botanicals gibt diesem Destillat danach seinen unverwechselbaren Geschmack.

Etsu Pacific Ocean Water Gin is distilled at Asahikawa Distillery in Hokkaido.
Hokkaido is the second largest of the Archipelago’s four main islands, but the second least populated. It is located north of the island of Honshu from which it is separated by the Tsugaru Strait. It is surrounded by the Pacific Ocean to the East, the Sea of Japan to the West and the Sea of Okhotsk to the north.

In the Meiji Era (1868-1912) the island took its current name : Hokkaido, which means “the way to the North Sea”.

Fresh water from the mountain source and sea water from the Sea of Japan are added to carefully selected botanicals, such as juniper berries, bitter orange peel, liquorice root, angelica and coriander to produce this unique gin, which captures the Japanese coast line in a bottle.

Sein Bouquet lässt die Wacholderbeeren deutlich erkennen, die umrahmt werden von einigen sanften floralen Noten. Beim Probieren bekommt man verschiedene spannende Nuancen zu schmecken, von leicht süß-säuerlichen Mandarinen kombiniert mit Koriander, Veilchen, Engelswurz, würzigen Mandeln, Wacholderbeeren und leicht scharfen Ingwer abgestimmt wurde. Der Mirabeau Dry Gin ist inspiriert von den Kräutern und Gewürzen, die wild auf dem eigenen Weingut wachsen, sowie von der Geschichte der Provence als weltberühmtem Zentrum des Parfumhandels. Als neutralen Basisalkohol wird ein feiner Traubenalkohol verwendet.
Dem Traubenalkohol verdankt der Mirabeau Rosé Gin seinen weichen und zartfruchtigen Geschmack. Zitronen und Koriander verleihen ihm die feine Zitrusfrische, Iriswurzeln und Engelwurz leicht blumige und erdige Noten, unterlegt mit den floralen Anklängen der nur sparsam zugesetzten Blüten von Rosen, Jasmin und Lavendel.
