Weisshorn Glacier Gin is a small batch gin handcrafted in the picturesque Swiss village of Chandolin perched 2000 metres high in the Val d'Anniviers - the valley of the Weisshorn Mountain. Our microdistillery is in a small vintage wooden cabin that dates back to 1890. The cabin is tucked away in the mountains at the foot of an alpine forest with a stream running beneath it and meadows below it where local cows come up to graze in the summer months. We use 12 botanicals, including Edelweiss, Elderflower, Genepi & Sweet Clover, individually distilled at very low temperature to preserve their fresh, crisp flavours and their natural oils. We then blend the botanicals with local glacier water to a bottling strength of 41.7% ABV. The resulting gin is unusually smooth and luxurious and is best sipped neat, on the rocks, or in a dry martini. When drinking with tonic we recommend a ratio of 1 to 1 to preserve the unique taste experience. The gin works well with fresh, green garnishes such as dill, fennel and sage.
