Sloe gin (sloe being the English word for blackthorn) is a distinct category of gin. Sloe berries, the original form of the plum, are macerated in distilled gin for several months and refined with sugar to create a fruity and slightly bitter liqueur. Many classic gin-based cocktails can be mixed perfectly with sloe gin. Because sloe gin has a lower alcohol content than regular gin, these cocktails become significantly fruitier and less alcoholic.
BOOGIN Sloe Gin was awarded Gold and Best in Class at Craft Spirits Berlin 2026 as the best gin of 2026. The jury's verdict: "A dense, powerful nose with typical sloe, forest notes, and hints of sour cherry. Fresh and tart on the palate, with the peel astringency elegantly integrated into the sweetness. Rich and expressive. Medium-long, pleasant finish. An outstanding sloe gin."
