As we all know, special things take time. This is also true of the Barrel Aged Dry Gin from Heimat Distillers. The basis of the Barrel Aged Dry Gin is the award-winning Heimat Gin. This dry gin, distilled in the traditional way, is made with a wide variety of meadow herbs, juniper berries and orchard fruits such as apples and pears. For the Barrel Aged Dry Gin, the gin is stored in a converted whisky barrel for several months after distillation. A used American white oak barrel is used for this purpose. The Mediterranean floral and fruity notes of thyme, sage, lavender, apples and pears are complemented by the wonderfully strong barrel aromas. Especially the caramel and vanilla flavours of the barrel created by the toasting form an excellent symbiosis with the gin.
The harmonious interplay is characterised by a high level of complexity and a wonderfully soft, rounded taste. The storage gives the Barrel Aged Dry Gin additional depth and a perfectly balanced complexity, which, in addition to its use in cocktails, is particularly impressive when enjoyed neat.
The stylish appearance in the specially designed cowhide case and the wax seal make it an absolute highlight on the spirits shelf for both gin and whisky lovers.
