Due to long hours of daylight and warm days and cold nights, Norway enjoys what may be, the best conditions in the world for growing herbs and berries. In fact, 18 of the 26 botanicals used in Bareksten can be found growing around the Distillery. The base product of potatoes is locally sourced as every effort is made to ensure that Norwegian-grown produce is used.&nbsp;
 
The gin is distilled in small batches which gives a very potent product with a sublime, fruity expression. Bareksten Gin is perfect with tonic water and, for sure, makes a perfect classic, Dry Martini. Bareksten Gin has a traditional base line but you will find hints of wild blueberries, lingonberries, rhubarb, elderflower, mint and an additional 20 different ingredients.

This Pink Gin contains no less than 23 botanicals. A touch of sourced sugar is added to give the spirit a mild sweet balance.

Old Tom Gin

Bareksten Old Tom Gin

We produce only300 liters at a time – to retain total control ofquality. We use berries and herbs from the wilds of Norway – among the world's most flavorsome. 
After distilling our classic Harahorn Gin, extracts of premium raspberries and the juice of freshly squeezed lemons are added. All the juice and flavour of both berries and lemon is preserved and is an important part of the flavour. Think of these two ingredients as part of the mixer and reduce the amount of, for example, tonic by about 15 - 20% compared to a classic GT. Don’t forget to use plenty of ice!

Color: Fresh Light pink

Nose: Appealing scent of juniper, raspberries and fresh citrus, with floral undertones.

Palate: Soft touch of raspberries, followed by juniper and fresh coriander. Refreshing finish with some acidity from the berries and a hint of pepper.

HARAHORN Pink Gin

Explores a careful selection of mediterranean and scandinavian herbs , most of which are picked in kimerud farm`s herbal garden.
Some of the specially selected herbs that make up the main flavors of this gin are.
Absinthium, Timian, Oregano, Basilikum and five mint species. Award winning master distiller Ståle H Johnsen choses 28 botanicals in total, which together gives botanisk gin a complete herbal flavor.
 
Usage: You can enjoy this gin alone in the glass, or with Tonic Water G.T and as a new approach to cocktails.

KIMERUD Botanisk Gin

Bareksten’s award winning gin in a Navy Strength version. The higher ABV really shows the backbone of this gin. It opens up a variety of new notes and flavors with a creamy viscosity that lingers for a long time.
 
Notes:
Notes of licorice and sweet berries. Full bodied gin with a complex structure and creamy texture. Taste of juniper and anis. Earthy notes and a pleasant sweet flavor.

Vidda Tørr gin er noe så eksotisk som en gin laget kun med vekster som vokser vilt i Norge. Ideen til Vidda var også unnfangelsen av Oslo Håndverksdestilleri (OHD). Etter en lang tur over fjellet fisket en av de tre kommende grunnleggerne av OHD en stor isklump opp av elven. Denne bar de med seg opp til hytta hvor den ble brukt til å avkjøle ettermiddagens gin tonic i hytteveggen. Hele dagen hadde turfølget stoppet opp og luktet og smakt på vekstene langs stien. Rundt hytta vokste det også en rekke einerbusker. – Hadde det vært mulig å lage en klassisk London dry gin kun med vekster som vokser vilt her på fjellet, spurte den ene. Et par år senere ble Oslo Håndverksdestilleri grunnlagt og Vidda Tørr gin lansert. Om du ser nøye på etiketten, så finner du faktisk denne historien gjemt rundt i illustrasjonen. 

Einebær må det jo selvfølgelig alltid være i gin, men det er flere andre vekster som også er nærmest obligatoriske. De fleste av disse vokser ikke i Norge. Da Vidda ble lansert, var den faktisk den første kommersielt produserte ginen i verden uten sitrus. 

Det lar de norske ginvekstene komme tydeligere frem slik at Vidda smaker av fjell og ikke noe annet. For å bevare smakene fra vekstene best mulig bruker vi to ulike teknikker i samme destillasjon. Noen av veksten legges i selve kjelen, mens de lettere vekstene plaserer i en dampkurv. Begge deler få massere over natten før destillering. Vidda er også destillert med norsk potetbrennevin. Det gjør at Vidda ikke bare er fra Norge, men er en ekte norsk gin. Samtidig er Vidda en klassisk London dry gin som kan nytes slik du foretrekker å drikke gin.

Eine Gin Manufaktur aus Norwegen, alleine das ist fast eine Rarita¨t. Aus dem Land der starken Wikinger erwartet man eigentlich keinen Gin. Umso gelungener und origineller sind die Harahorn Gins. Und die robuste Verru¨cktheit der Norweger spiegelt sich auch in der absurden Figur auf der Flasche wider, die einem geho¨rten Hasen a¨hnelt. Diesem mythischen Fabelwesen ist aber bis heute kurioserweise noch keiner live begegnet.

Der Harahorn Norwegian White Lemon Gin der Det Norske Brenneri aus Oslo, richtet sich vor allem an Gin-Liebhaber. Aus diesem Hause kommen bereits ein paar preisgekro¨nte Gins. Alle produziert in kleinen Auflagen per regionaler Handarbeit.

Mit diesem speziellen New Western Gin wurde eine Sonderedition voller Wiedererkennungswert geschaffen. In der klaren Spirituose finden sich durchaus Parallelen zum in Skandinavien u¨blicheren und bekannteren „Aquavit“.

Aromatisch und geschmacklich gesehen verdient der Harahorn Norwegian White Lemon Gin volle Aufmerksamkeit. Gekonnt ha¨lt er die Balance zwischen zitrusfruchtigen Noten und herbalen Beikla¨ngen. Gru¨ner Kardamom und Minze sind hierbei vorherrschend. Als Highlight rundet der trockene Harahorn Norwegian White Lemon Gin sein Geschmackserlebnis mit bittersu¨ßer Lakritze ab.

The most unique of Kimerud Navy Strength’s botanicals is Golden Root. During the Viking age (800-1050), this herb was considered a delicacy, with magical properties. It continues to grow wild in the North of Norway where our master distiller handpicks the flower &amp; root along the seaside and on his farm (Kimerud farm 1785). The Arctic Sea gives our gin its flavor and contributes to a raw taste and smell.
This new member of the multi awarded family operated Kimerud distillery is a tribute to Jørgen Kristian Has Nilsen, grandfather of our master distiller.

We at Det Norske Brenneri, i.e. the Norwegian Distillery, like to challenge ourselves. Now Harahorn Gin has had a 1-year long aging in our best Oloroso sherry casks.
The result is a premium gin with softness and elegance with a taste of juniper berry, coriander andspices. Enjoy it in a Negroni or alone in a good glass.

BIVROST Cask Aged Gin

Når noen nevner Fjæra, tenker vi på mye mer enn bare overgangen mellom hav og land. Ordet får tankene til å fly til sommer og sol. Bølgende bølger og skrik av måker. Avslappende og late dager med venner og familie. Morgenbad og lange, lyse kvelder.

Fjæra Rosé Gin er tolkningen av den ideelle gin å drikke ved vannet. Frisk, tørr og fruktig. En rosa gin uten kunstig farge, smak eller tilsatt sukker. Destillatet starter med et snev av blomster og friske toner. Noen av plantene legges i selve potten, mens blomstene legges i en dampkorg.

Begge deler masseres over natten før destillasjon. Fjæra er også destillert med norsk potetbrennevin. Deretter lagrer vi gin i 2-3 måneder på rødvinsfat fra Bordeaux. Denne korte fatlagringen gir Fjæra både farge og aroma av bær og krydder, samtidig som den unngår en tydelig eikepreg. Etter lagring i en tønne kan gin bli dynket litt med bringebær for å gi den litt ekstra fruktighet.

Fjæra Rosé Gin kan lett beskrives som ginens svar på en rosévin og er perfekt for de samme anledningene. Server med bringebær.
