Burgen Herbal Dry Gin is distilled under vacuum, one of the gentlest forms of distillation. The distillation can already take place at 65 ° C. The result is an extremely intense distillate, as the aromas of the botanicals can be transferred to the distillate much more gently and with a more intense taste due to the low temperature. A vacuum still usually has a small capacity, as enormous forces act on the still due to the negative pressure. With a wealth of experience, this is handcrafted in the traditional Schlitzer distillery. The Burgen Herbal Gin Barrel Aged Edition is finished in a historic barrique barrel from the Schlitzer distillery. The traditional Schlitzer distillery has been producing whiskey in a targeted manner since 2006. The barrique barrel with a capacity of 225l was one of the first barrels in which Schlitzer whiskey was specifically stored. It was originally used to store Spanish red wines and then served as a second occupancy for the popular “Schlitzerland Sour Mash Single Grain Burgen Whiskey” for years of maturation.
