Since 1601, innumerable artisans in parts of Altona have enjoyed special religious and commercial freedom. This area became known under the name “Freiheit” - and with it the streets “Große” & “Kleine Freiheit” on Hamburg St. Pauli since the 17th century. In the tradition of this freedom, we took the same and distilled a special declaration of love for our hometown. In addition to Tuscan juniper, caraway, anise, fennel, dill and lemons were macerated. In a lengthy percolation, we extracted five special types of pepper and carefully distilled them all together. Last but not least, our gin enjoyed itself in old Aquavit oak barrels for a sinful night before it found its way into the typical GIN SUL bottle.
